The International Tourism Leaders Summit (ITLS) 2025 is driven by three core objectives:
1. To enhance leadership development by equipping both emerging and established hospitality professionals with advanced skills and knowledge through expert-led workshops tailored to the demands of the digital era;
2. To foster intellectual engagement through a Debate Competition involving leading hospitality schools in Bali, aimed at cultivating critical thinking, effective communication, and informed advocacy as essential leadership traits;
3. To promote sustainability and innovation by integrating focused discussions and workshops that address current and future environmental and social challenges. Through these objectives, ITLS 2025 aims to prepare a new generation of hospitality leaders capable of driving responsible, inclusive, and forward-thinking growth across the industry.
The tourism and hospitality sector is at a turning point, ready for transformation and innovation. The COVID-19 pandemic caused a major crisis, with international tourist arrivals dropping by over 70% and global travel spending falling by more than 50%, a loss of over $3 trillion. Despite these challenges, the crisis also opened the door for change and improvement. Now, as the sector recovers and is expected to grow by 7% annually over the next decade, its resilience and adaptability are clear. Tourism is re-emerging as a major force for global economic growth, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development. Tourism also plays a key role in supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It does this by investing in quality education and skills training, building sustainable and climate- resilient infrastructure, and promoting innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship to strengthen the workforce.
The themes outlined above are essential topics for discussion among tourism professionals and related stakeholders. The International Tourism Leaders Summit (ITLS) has served as a vital platform for multi-sectoral dialogue and collaboration across the tourism industry. Following the remarkable success of the inaugural ITLS in September 2024, which focused on strengthening the competencies of hospitality leaders and attracted more than 800 participants over three days, has set a new standard for leadership development in the industry. Building on the momentum of previous successes, the Indonesian Hotel General Manager Association (IHGMA) Bali Chapter is honored to host the International Tourism Leaders Summit (ITLS) 2025, under the theme “The Future of Hospitality & Tourism: Embracing Responsible & Inclusive Growth.” This theme underscores IHGMA’s continued commitment to fostering visionary leadership in tourism and to emphasizing the sector’s vital contributions to global social, cultural, and economic progress. A central feature of ITLS 2025 will be the International General Manager Summit, which will convene leading hospitality professionals from across Southeast Asia, including representatives from Thailand, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Timor-Leste, and Cambodia. A session featuring renowned international speakers who will share insights on the leadership required to address current and future challenges in the tourism sector.
2. Hospitality Professional Workshop
Focused on Hospitality Revenue Generators, this workshop will cover key areas such as Hotel Revenue Management, Sales & Marketing, Food & Beverage, and Ancillary Revenue Management.
3. Tourism Debate Competition
Designed to develop critical thinking, communication skills, and informed advocacy among participants, this competition encourages students to engage in structured, high- level debate on pressing tourism issues.
4. ITLS Award 2025 “IHGMA Circle of Excellence”
An annual recognition presented by IHGMA Bali to honor tourism practitioners who have made exceptional contributions to the advancement of Bali’s tourism industry and beyond.
Further, this prestigious event is also held in conjunction with the celebration of World Tourism Day on September 27, 2025. As part of the global festivities, ITLS 2025 highlights the industry’s commitment to sustainable tourism, international collaboration, and the vital role of tourism in economic and cultural development.

1. Opening Ceremony, which is planned to be opened by the Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Ibu Petahana Widiyanti (To be Confirmed)
2. Leaders Talk Show, which will present quality speakers to provide views on the Tourism Leadership that is needed today.
3. International General Manager Conference, which will be attended by Top Hospitality Leaders from Asia, such as Thailand, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippine, Timor Leste and Kamboja.
4. Hospitality Professional Workshop, consists of 4 classes focusing on hospitality revenue generator management, includes: Hospitality Revenue Management, Sales & Marketing Management, Food & Beverage Management, and Ancillary Revenue Management.
5. Tourism Debate Competition, which participated by Tourism school and university in Bali.
6. ITLS Award 2025 “IHGMA Circle of Excellence” is an annual award from IHGMA Bali to Tourism practitioners who have made extraordinary contributions to Bali tourism.
The IHGMA DPD Bali Committee collaborates with a Strategic Business Partner (SBP) which then forms a committee structure, complemented by various fields of activity. (The structure of the committee is attached).
ITLS 2025 expecting 700 participants for 2 full days event, consist of:
1. Participants in the Opening ceremony and Leadership Talk show, opened to all tourism
components through a special invitation from the committee.
2. The Hospitality Professional Workshop, consists of:
• The highest leaders of the hotel industry, including General Managers, Hotel
Managers, or Villa Managers who want to deepen their knowledge in the hospitality
sector.
• Hospitality senior managers who are in the process of moving to the highest level in
hospitality, including: Operations Manager, Executive Assistant Manager (EAM),
Room Division Manager, and others who are equivalent.
• Heads of departments in hotels who want to deepen knowledge outside their field of
expertise.
